Service Creek is nestled deep in the heart of the John Day Fossil Basin and borders the wild and scenic John Day River located in central Oregon.   This tiny town has a population of two (Kate & Dave) and offers a loge, restaurant, visitor information center, deli / convenience store, raft rentals and river shuttle service folks seeking an adventure.

Service Creek is perfectly situated in the center of the basin, making it the perfect base to explore the myriad of attractions.  From the Painted Hills in Mitchell, fossil hunting in Fossil, and the Thomas Condon Interpretive Center (Sheep Rock Unit) past Kimberly, Service Creek is literally in the middle of it all.
